About Me

Michael Ziegler
Education: Bialik High School Class of 2013, Dawson College Class of 2015, McGill Political Science Student. Born and raised in Montreal, the Canadiens have always been a big part of my life. What started out as a way to blow off some steam after a tough loss in the 2011 playoffs eventually became a popular hit with Facebook friends around the internet. On PGT, I like to dissect each and every Habs game and promote discussion about the team. Other interests: Aside from Hockey and sports in general, I love music. During the summer I work for Camp Wingate, a sleep-away sports camp just north of Montreal. Jordie Benn

How's this for a stat; in just 29 games, Jordie Benn has already set a career high in goals with 4. That is more than all star defensemen Erik Karlsson, Brent Burns, Victor Hedman and Dustin Byfuglien... COMBINED!! Injury Report

After missing 5 straight games with a lower body injury, Shea Weber returned last Saturday night for the Canadiens rout of the Red Wings. Arturri Lekhonen is still sidelined with a lower body injury, but started skating this week. Jonathan Drouin missed the short road trip to Detroit last week, also due to a lower body injury. He was supposed to return to the lineup Tuesday against the Blues, but caught a virus, causing him to miss two more games. Al Montoya is still out with a concussion.

Daniel Carr

What a story this kid is. Not the biggest, not the fastest, not the most skilled, but he just has a knack for scoring goals. Since the Canadiens called him up from the Laval Rocket four games ago, Carr has amassed 6 points and is leading a very productive fourth line in Montreal. It seems as if he has cemented his spot on the roster. Well deserved.

Trade!!!

Quick hitter: the Habs have traded AHL forward Patrick Holland to the New York Rangers in exchange for fellow AHLer Adam Cracknell. More from CBC: http://www.cbc.ca/sports/hockey/nhl/adam-cracknell-canadiens-trade-1.4426710 Here's the hilarious tweet Cracknell sent out after the trade: https://twitter.com/ACracknell25/status/936285896785256448

Karma...

22 years to the day the Canadiens lost 11-1 at the Forum the Detroit Red Wings, and Patrick Roy played his last game as a Montreal Canadien, the Canadiens returned the favour. Visiting the Bell Centre, the Red Wings were demolished by the Habs in what turned out to be a 10-1 rout for the home team. You know what they say, karma's a b*tch. Price's Return

Carey Price has returned from his injury and currently owns a 5-1-1 record since rejoining the Canadiens. His impact on the team is quite obvious when he's playing up to his standards. Interesting to see if Montreal can make a playoff push with their best player back in the lineup!
